Visual storytelling for a reimagined mortgage servicing brand

In 2024, Ocwen Financial Corporation rebranded as Onity Group Inc., marking a significant transformation in its corporate identity. As a leading non-bank mortgage servicer and originator, Onity sought a logo animation that encapsulated its renewed commitment to innovation, reliability, and customer-centric solutions.
Collaborating with Onity's design team and under the direction of the studio's art director, I contributed to the development of a concise logo animation. My responsibilities included storyboarding and shaping the motion sequence to align with Onity's brand attributes. The animation emphasizes energy flow and simplicity, reinforcing the brand's commitment to dependable and cutting-edge financial services.
Although I departed the studio midway through the engagement, I ensured the preparation of comprehensive case study assets, including the brand animation, to facilitate the project's completion.
Logo animation
Collaborated with Onity's design team to conceptualize and storyboard a logo animation that embodies the secure and continuous flow characteristic of mortgage servicing systems.


Brand applications
Worked with the internal marketing team to ensure the animation elements could be adapted for various digital and physical touchpoints, maintaining consistency across platforms.



Social media integration
Developed detailed storyboards focusing on circular reveal and energy flow elements, which became signature aspects of the brand's motion language.

Digital experience
The project included digital experience design elements, such as this custom 404 error page animation that incorporates the brand's visual language while creating a memorable user interaction.

Brand guidelines
Comprehensive brand guidelines were developed to ensure consistent application of the visual system across all touchpoints. These guidelines included detailed specifications for logo usage, color palette, typography, and motion principles.


Marketing collateral
The visual identity system was applied to various marketing materials, creating a cohesive brand experience across different touchpoints and reinforcing the brand's positioning in the security technology sector.



Final deliverables
The final logo animation brings together all the design elements, creating a dynamic brand expression that communicates Onity's values of reliability, innovation, and customer focus in the mortgage servicing industry.
